A few days past since you been walking with everyone when you finally reached the camp where Sanosuke and Hijikata's men would be but when you reached it you and the others became shocked since there was flames every where as well as bodies of soldiers. "What happened here?'' Not long after Saito said that screams could be heard having you and the others run to where you heard the screams and when you got there you saw more dead soldiers all over there and the one who screamed was Sanosuke because he was being hurt by none of then Seijuro as Seijuro stabbed Sanosuke on his side having Sanosuke fall to the ground hurt. Before Seijuro could kill Sanosuke you ran in front of him and blocked Seijuro's sword with yours. "Saito help Sanosuke.'' Saito nodded his head to you and ran over to Sanosuke as he carried him away with Chizuru to a safe location as they watched unfoldbetween you and Seijuro as Souji and Hijikata joined in the fight to help you defect Seijuro. No matter how hard you fought him with Souji and Hijikata you could not defect him for Seijuro had gotten stronger and was wounding you and Souji and Hijikata with his sword. Souji's eyes turned gold as his hair became silver while Hijikata's eyes turned red and his hair silver but despite them useing thier demon power against Seijuro he was still to strong for them to take down. Seijurp growled and grabbed Spouji by his neck and throw him agaisnt a tree. Souji let out a cry of pain and fell to his side when he hit the ground. "Souji!!!'' You ran to Souji to help him but soon let out a scream since Seijuro slashed your back open. You fell to the ground and laid on your side as you looked up at Seijuro. "Master please dont do this.'' Seijuro growled and sent his sword down to kill you but it didnt get the chance to hit you since Hijikata ran in front of you to protect you and he was able to block the attack. Seijuro roared in anger and before Hijikata could attack Seijuro, Seijuro broke Hijikata's sword in half and stabbed Hijikata in his heart but since he used such force to do so Seijuro sword broke in half having him realize he be at a disadventage so he retreated into the woods. Hijikata fell to his knees and pulled out of the other half of the sword out of his heart having gushes of blood flow out of his wound but since the sword stabbed his heart, his wound was not healing. "Hijikata!!!'' You screamed as Hijikata fell backwards but you were able to catch him in your arms as your wounds was able to heal as was Souji's as he ran to Hijikata's side, as Saito, Sanosuke and Chizuru ran to his side as well and looked down at him as they were standing. Hijikata's eyes and hair went back to normal as he looked up at you as tears fell down your cheeks since you knew Hijikata was about to die and there was nothing you could do to save him. The others felt the same way you did. "You idiot why did you have to do that, you stupid idiot!!!'' You shouted at him. Hijikata smiled as he reached his hand up to your face and touched your cheek. "I did it because I didnt want the one person who is so precious to me to die.'' Everyone was shocked Hijikata said that. "I always told my self that I would never tell you my feelings unless I was dying so since that time has finally come I can now tell you how I really feel about you.'' Hijikata looked into your eyes with warmth in his. "I love you Sayori, I have loved you for along time and im glad that I got to stay by your side for this long.'' Before you could say anything, Hijikata placed his hand against the back of your head and pulled you down as he kissed you on your lips. He kissed you for some time but finally let you go as he looked at Souji. "Take care of her.'' Souji nodded his head. Hijikata looked back at you as he felt his heart about to stop. He closed his eyes half way. "Im glad I fell in love with you Sayori, it really made me happy.'' That was the last thing Hijikata said as his eyes closed and his heart stopped beating. "HIJIKATA!!!'' You shouted as everyone shouted his name as well. You then buried your face on his chest and cried as Chizuru and Saito held one another and cried while Sanosuke and Souji cried in slience. Once you had buried Hijikata and the soldiers that had died by Seijuro, Saito said that he would be taking command of the soldiers that was still left alive as the new captian since it was something Hijikata would have wanted and Chizuru would stay by her lover's side. As for Sanosuke he was still wounded and needed to rest so he would be staying with Saito and Chizuru as you would leave with Souji to find Seijuro and put an end to him and then after that you would be going after Kazama. "Please come back alive, I dont want to lose the only family I have left.'' "I will Chizuru I promise.'' You said to her as you hugged her. You looked at Saito. "Take care of my sister Saito.'' "I will, I wont ever let her be in harms way.'' You smiled and shook Saito's hand as he did yours. "I want to go with you Sayori.'' "You cant Sanosuke, your still wounded so please stay with Saito and Chizuru and rest so your wounds can heal.'' "If that is what you want then I will but you better come back.'' "I will.'' Sanosuke hugged you. "Souji you better keep the girl I love safe you hear me other wise your going to have to deal with me when you get back.'' "Dont worry Sanosuke I will keep her safe.'' Sanosuek nodded his head to Souji. With one last good bye to everyone, you and Souji left. When night had fallen you and Souji set up camp and sat near a fire to keep warm. As you stared into the flames you spoke. "I never knew.'' "You never knew what Sayori?'' "I never knew that Hijikata had feelings for me, I always thought he just saw me as a comrade and close friend.'' "I always knew in some way what Hijikata felt towards you but I wasnt completely sure about it until he told you before he died.'' You lowered your head. "He never should have protected me if he didnt then he wouldnt be dead right now.'' "If he didnt protect you then Seijuro would have killed you, Hijikata didnt want you to die so despite the risk of him losing his life he did what he could, he wanted to protect you since you meant so much to him.'' "Would you do the samething Souji?'' "Of course I would, I would do anything for you.'' You glared at Souji and grabbed him by his shirt as you shook him. "You jerk, your just as bad as Hijikata, throwing your lives away with out thinking of how I would feel if you died.'' You lowered your head as tears fell down your cheeks. "I have already lost to many friends and family and soon im going to have to kill my real father and I dont want to do it but I have to other wise hes going to keep killing people like he did with Hijikata and I dont want that to happen but more then that I, I.'' You looked up at Souji and into his eyes. "I never ever want to lose you, your the most important person to me in my world, if I ever lost you then I dont know what I would do.'' "Sayori.'' Souji wispered. Souji then wrapped his arms around you and held you close. "You will never lose me just like I wont ever lose you, were together and always will be and I will not allow anyone or anything to change that.'' Souji placed his hand on your cheek. "I love you Sayori, I love you so much and its because I love you that I will do what ever I can to protect you even if it means I get hurt in the process of doing it but I will never ever leave you alone understand, I will always be here for you, that will never change.'' More tears fell down your cheeks and with out saying anymore Souji kissed your eye lids and then he kissed your lips as you kissed him back. Both you and Souji loved each other more then words could say and its because of that love that both him and you can over come anything and will be able to always be together. When morning came you woke up and found your self in Souji's arms as he and you fell asleep holding each other as you were laying down on the ground next to the fire that was now all burned out. You went to remove Souji's arms from around your waist but couldnt since he held you tighter as he opened his eyes and looked at you with a smile on his face. "Morning Sayori.'' "Um morning Souji.'' You looked away from Souji as you blushed since you still was embrassed anytime Souji held you close to him. "Hmm.'' Souji said as amusement was in his eyes. Souji then removed one of his arms from around your waist as he turned you to face him then kissed you but that was soon over as you pushed him away and stood up. "What do you think you are doing Souji!?'' Souji chuckled at your reaction since he knew you would act like that. "Oh my sweet Sayori you never stop amusing me and your so cute when you get all embrassed so I just had to do that which makes me wonder how your going to react when I finally make love to you.'' "Huh!?'' Your face became a deep red as your heart was beating so hard that you could hear it inside of your ears but those feelings was soon over come with anger as you glared at Souji. "Souji you basterd stop teaseing me!!!'' Souji laughed again at the glare you were giving him. You soon sighed as you calmed down. "We should get going, I dont want to waste another second standing here.'' You said as you began to walk. Souji nodded his head and walked up beside you. "Im glad that you finally calmed down from last night Sayori, the whole night you still couldnt stop from crying even as you slept you still was crying so when you woke up I was glad to see that tears was no longer in your eyes. You showed a sad look. "Im still upset about what happened and I cant just get over the death of Hijikata but I know that if I kept crying over him Hijikata would be angry with me since he would want me to be strong and do what I need to do.'' "Yeah that does sound like him.'' "Plus if I was all alone I wouldnt be able to stand up and handle everything that has happened but since I have you by my side the world doesnt seem all that dark.'' Souji felt you grab his hand and hold it. Souji smield and held your hand back. Well over two weeks past since you went to search for Seijuro and finally you found him. The sun was just going down as you saw Seijuro walking around in the forest you entered with a new sword in his hand and fresh blood on his clothes making you think that he must have just killed some people some where and now more then before he looked even worse then a demon monster. Seijuro saw you and growled as he ready his sword. You narrowed your eyes and reached for your sword despite your whole body shaking as your heart ached. You really didnt want to kill Seijuro but you had no choice he needed to be stopped before he could kill more people like he did with Hijikata who was very precious to you. You unsheathed your sword and held it in your hands as your eyes turned gold and your hair silver. "Souji this is my fight and mine alone so matter what happens please do not enter the fight, I have to do this my self.'' Souji nodded his head and took a step back despite wanting to help you but he knew you would not forgive him if he joined the fight since this was something you wanted to do alone with no help. "Master im sorry it took so long for me to make up my mind but now I have, I will put you out of your misery.'' Seijuro growled at your words and charged at you. He went to slash you  but you jumped behind him and slashed his back. Seijuro wound healed quickly and he turned around as he kept swinging his sword at you but could not cut you since you blocked every attack he throw. As you fought Seijuro you thought of the day he asked you to kill him and when he also revealed to you that he was your father. "I will do what you asked me, I wont run away from it this time.'' You thought. You put more of your demon strength in your self as it flowed through your body and finally once you saw an opening to Seijuro, you stabbed him through his chest and out his back right through his heart. Seijuro dropped his sword as he lowered his arms and hands. "Sayori.'' You heard Seijuro wisper. You looked up at his face and saw him smiling down at you as the insanity he had on his face was gone as well as blood flow out of his mouth. "You did what I asked in the end...thank you.'' That was the last thing Seijuro said as he fell backwards and onto the ground as your sword ripped out of him as you still held it in your hand but you soon dropped it as your eyes and hair went back to normal and you fell to your knees and crawled over to Seijuro to see his eyes closed and that smile still on his face. For the first time in a long time he looked like he was at peace. "Master.'' You wispered as tears formed in your eyes. you felt your heart break. "FATHER!!!!!!'' You shouted as your tears fell down your cheeks and you began to cry. Arms soon wrapped around you and knowing that it was Souji who was holding you, you turned around and buried your face in his chest as you cried louder and shook even more. Souji didnt say nothing he just continued to hold you as you cried and cried. You soon was able to calm down and wiped your tears away as you asked Souji to help you bury Seijuro. Once Seijuro was buried you placed some flowers down on his grave. "Goodbye Father.'' You said with sadness in your voice and after saying that you turned around and left with Souji at your side. Now that Seijuro was dead there was only one thing left to do before you could move on and live in peace with Souji and that was to kill Kazama but you had no idea where he could be or if he was even watching you from some where. You remembered that he told you that he would eventually come for you no matter where you were but you didnt want that so deciding to tap into your demon senses you used that to try and sense Kazama and sure enough as soon as you did that you actually was able to sense him and he wasnt that far having you realize that he either have been following you this whole time or was just on his way to get you. "Sayori whats wrong?'' You heard Souji say to you. "I sense him and hes getting close, this will be the last thing I need to do and finally I can live a peaceful life with you.'' Knowing that you spoke of Kazama, Souji nodded his head and grabbed your hand."Then lets find him and put an end to all this.'' You nodded your head and took of running with Souji running next to you. Night had fallen and by the time you reached where Kazama was, It was on top of a cliff right outside of the forest. Kazama was at the edge of the cliff looking up at the night sky but he soon turned around and looked at you with a smirk on his face having you realize that he must have stayed put since he sensed you coming towards him. "Seeing you here right in front of me must mean that Kutani-sama is dead and was killed by you.'' Kazama saw you flinch having him see that what he said was true. "Heh I must say that im suprised that you were able to kill that man who was your father when I thought you didnt have it in you to do it so tell me what changed your mind to kill him instead of letting him continue to live?'' You lowered your head. "He killed someone who was very precious to me and who was also a dear friend and comrade so that is why I killed him, he needed to be stopped so he could no longer take any more lifes and when I finally killed him he thanked me since it was what he wanted me to do now hes finally at peace.'' "I see and now you have come for me huh to kill me for all the wrong I done to you.'' Instead of saying anything you unsheathed your sword as your eyes turned gold and your hair turned silver. Souji eyes and hair also changed as he unsheathed his sword. Kazama became shocked to see the color of Souji's eyes and hair having him realize that you used your blood on Souji to make him become a full blooded demon. Kazama narrowed his eyes as his hair and eyes changed color while horns appeared on his forehead and he unsheathed his sword. "How dare a lowly human like you drink the blood of the woman who is destined to be with me heh im sure that once I kill you she will come to me.'' Souji smirked. "Oh you really think that heh sorry to disappoint you but that aint going to happen the one whos going to die will be you.'' Souji and you looked at each other and as if reading eachs others minds you nodded your heads and charged at Kazama with your swords in your hands held tight. You decided to let Souji fight beside you since you wanted to take down Kazama with Souji. The sky grew darker as the night continued to go on as you fought Kazama but no matter how many times you tried to stab him though his heart to end him you couldnt get an opening nor could Souji. Kazama was alot stronger then you ever imagined possible. Souji soon let out a cry of pain since Kazama slashed his chest and back open having Souji fall to the ground since his wounds was not healing fast enough since the cuts was very deep. "Souji!!!'' You shouted as you ran in front of Souji just as Kazama was going to give the finish blow to him. You blocked Kazama's attack having him glare at you. "Get out of my way.'' "No I wont let you kill him.'' "Is this man so important to you that your willing to protect him?'' "Yes, he means everything to me so no matter what you say I wont let you kill him nor will I ever be with you for all I feel for you now is hate and I will kil you for everything you have done Kazama.'' Kazama lowered his head and you could see his body shaking. "I really thought that if I told you my true feelings towards you, you let go of the past and come with me but it seems that can no longer be so since I cant have you I might as well kill you so no man can ever have you and ill let this man live so he can suffer and fall into sorrow to always know that he will never again be able to hold you in his arms.'' Kazama lifted his head and looked up at you with malice having a chill go down your spine. Kazama used more force in his sword and slashed his sword against your sword so hard it had you thrown to your side as you fell to the ground. You soon cried out in pain as Kazama stabbed you in your right shoulder as he looked down at you while he stepped on your left wrist so you wouldnt try to slash him with your sword that you still held in your left hand, Kazama twisted his sword in your shoulder having you scream more. "I really didnt want to do this Sayori but you left me no choice, if I cant have you then no other man can.'' Kazama pulled his sword out of your arm and went to stab you in your heart but didnt get the chance since he was stabbed from behind by Souji as Souji stabbed him though his side since Souji knew you wanted to do the final blow. "Sayori finish him off now.'' Souji said to you.'' You nodded your head and kicked Kazama on his leg having him back up as he was no longer stepping on your wrist giving you the chance to get up and run towards him and before Kazama could block your attack he let out a cry of pain as Souji ripped his sword out of his side and jumped out of the way as you stabbed Kazama in his heart since it was the only way for a full blooded demon to die since they could heal any where else on their bodies except their heart. Kazama dropped his sword as he fell to the ground as you pulled out your sword from his chest as your eye and hair color went back to normal and so did Souji's. Kazama coughed up blood and reached his hand up towards you as you stood over him and looked down at him. "Sayori.'' Kazama wispered while still reaching his hand up towards you. Kazama looked like he was going to say something more to you but the words never left his lips as his hand dropped to the ground and his eyes closed. Knowing that Kazama was dead made you drop to your knees and tears fell down your cheeks. Even though you hated him and had to kill him for what he has done to you in the past and the friends he had killed, you once loved him and it was those feelings that was making you cry right now. You felt Souji place his hand on your shoulder and leaned your cheek against it. You soon stopped crying and told Souji that you wanted to bury Kazama since it would have been to cruel to leave him where he was. Souji didnt argue so he helped you bury Kazama. By the time you finished burying him the sun was just raising in the sky. As you kept looking at Kazama's grave and saying good bye to him through your heart you saw Souji extend his hand to you with a smile on his face. "Come on Sayori lets go back to everyone who is waiting for us.'' You smiled as you nodded your head and took hold of Souji's hand as the both of you left Kazama's grave.

ONE YEAR LATER

A year has past since everything that has happened. The war has ended as both sides decided to work together to run the country since both sides has lost to much and didnt want to lose anymore then they already had so they decided to work together. Chizuru and Saito got married and lived in a place that was always snowing on top of a snowy mountain. They both were happy with each other and Chizuru was able to find a way to stop the blood lust Saito tended to get from being a fury by looking over Kodo's research since the medicine Saito took no longer could contain the blood lust. Even though Saito was still a fury he no longer had to transform into one since he no longer had to fight and could live in peace with Chizuru just like a human with out worrying of using up his life span everytime he would transform and knowng that he could live a long time with Chizuru made both him and her happy. Since Chizuru and Saito lived far from where you and Souji lived, you and Chizuru would always write each other letters and tell each other how your lifes was going and hoped that you could see each other sometime by traveling where you lived. Once Sanosuke's wounds was all healed he decided to travel the world and see the sights since the Shinsengumi was no more and was no longer needed now that the war was over. Despite him traveling he tended to stop by where you lived just to see you since he was still in love with you in which you didnt mind since you were always happy to see Sanosuke since he was one of the cloest friends you had. You and Souji lived in small village town surrounded by forest in which it was peaceful every where. Plus there was a cherry blossom tree that stood in the back of your house that had flowers growing under it and you and Souji spent some of your time there looking at the flowers and cherry bloosom petals that fell from the tree. While you were in the house cleaning up you didnt hear Souji come up from behind you until he wrapped his arms around your waist having you become startled. Seeing your reaction made Souji smile. "You really have let your guard down this past year Sayori since there is no more reason for you to fight, for both you and me held are swords up since we no longer have to fight.'' "Of course I have since we live in peace now but if you keep sneaking up on me like this I might just have to put my guard up again.'' Souji laughed. "Where would be the fun in that since I like sneaking up on you and startling you.'' "Well I dont find it fun or funny now let go so I can finish cleaning.'' "Nope.'' "Souji I mean it let go.'' Souji sighed and let you go. "Once you finished cleaning please join me under the cherry blossom tree there is something I want to give you.'' You looked at Souji confused but nodded your head as you watched him go out back to stand under the cherry blossom tree. Once you had finished, you joined him out back under the tree as the flowers blew back and forth near your feet from the wind and as the cherry blossom petals fell from the tree around you and Souji. "You and me been through so much Sayori and we lost so much.'' You smiled a sad smile as you thought of everyone you lost, Kondo, Kodo, Shinpachi, Heisuke, Hijikata, Seijuro and even Kazama. Souji saw your sad smile and placed his hand on your left cheek. "Even though we lost so much we both decided to keep on moving in life and keep those we lost in our hearts that way it will always feel like they will be with us and for this past year since everything that has happened we been able to live in peace with each other just Chizuru and Saito has been able to live in peace with each other but despite us living this peaceful life I want more then that I want us to become more happier then we already are so thats why I decided to ask you a question that I been wanting to ask for so long but never had the guts to do it until now.'' Souji lowered his hand from your cheek as took hold of your left hand and brought it to his lips as he kissed your finger tips and while still having your fingers against his lips he looked in your eyes with warmth as he held something up with his other hand in front of you and it was a ring that was made of flowers that looked like the flowers that was around your feet. It looked like Souji made the ring him self. "Will you Sayori Kutani who's last name once was Yukimura before finding out her real last family name do me the honer of becoming my wife?'' Hearing Souji ask you to become his wife made you blush a slight pink as your heart skipped a beat as it filled up with warmth. You smiled at Souji with love."Yes Souji I will become your wife.'' Souji smiled more then he already was and put the ring on your finger and not long after doing that he hugged you and held you tight. "Thank you Sayori you have no idea how happy you just made me.'' "Heh I feel the same way.'' Something then crossed your mind having you blush more. "Um Souji?'' Souji stopped hugging you as he pulled you away while having his hands on your shoulders and stared into your eyes while you stared into his. "Um when you and me become husband and wife after we get married does it mean that were finally going to um that were finally going to.'' Since you were so embrassed you couldnt finish your sentence and blushed more. Knowing what you were trying to say made Souji smirk as he looked at you with teaseing in his eyes. "Yes Sayori what you were trying to say is right heh it means that you and me will finally be able to make love to one another.'' You felt your heart beating inside your chest at a fast rate knowing that wasgoing to happen once you and Souji get married. "heh Sayori youreally are cute just look at how flush your face looks. You gave Souji a dirty look. "Shut up Souji you jerk and how can you not be embrassed about it?'' "Because im a man and we men dont get embrassed about things like that.'' Souji placed his hands on your cheeks while still stareing into your eyes. "Dont worry about it so much Sayori heh ill be very gently when that day comes once were married. "Stop teaseing me.'' "I cant since it was one of the reasons that made me fall in love with you.'' "Souji.'' Souji smiled again. "I love you Sayori.'' You smiled at Souji. "I love you too so please dont you ever let me go.'' "Heh I wont and dont you ever let me go.'' "I wont, your mine forever just like ill always be yours.'' After saying that you closed your eyes and leaned up since you wanted Souji to kiss you in which he did. When you felt Souji's lips touch yours you knew that you and Souji would always be together and that the life you and him was going to create with one another was going to be filled with happyiness and love that will last for ever and ever.
