vampire knight[chapter 4]

Once Kaien was in his office with you and Kali, he sat down at his desk as you stood in frotn of it with Kali standing next to you. "Ask your questions Lydia Yuzuki.'' Kaien said to you. "What I want to know is why you adopted me and my sister, you never even met us except maybe seeing us around the vampire hunter society.'' "Yes you are right, I have never met you or your sister but I have seen you around at the society when I went there on business, I also heard the tragic story about what happened to your parents.'' "Um excuse me Mr. Cross me and Lydia dont have the same Father, just the same Mother, the one who died with our Mother that night was my Father.'' "I did not know that Kali thank you for informing me so then where is your real Father Lydia?'' You narrowed your eyes and looked away from Cross as you looked out one of the windows in the room. "Hell if I know, my Mother never talked about him, the only thing she ever told me was that he was a bad person, thats all I know.'' "I see well in any case the reason why I decided to adopt you and Kali was because I wanted the both of you to be part of my family, I belive that the both of you desrvses to have a new family and not be alone anymore and I think im just the right person to be your adopted Father.'' Cross smiled as he stood up and placed his hand on Kali's head and rubbed it. "From now on you no longer have to be sad so much, you can be happy and look forward to life, so if you ever feel sad about anything, im here for you, the both of you.'' Tears fell down Kali's cheeks and she hugged Kaien. "Thank you.'' Was all she could say. As for you, you didnt say anything, you always knew that Kali wanted to have a family, ever since her Dad and hers and yours Mom died, Kali felt like she never would have a family again, she always missed those happy times so now knowing that she can be happy again with a new family made her fill up with joy. For you though, you werent interested in being part of a new family, you just wanted to find the vampires who killed your mom and step dad and make them pay for what they did. That was all that mattered to you except for always protecting Kali. You looked at Cross and saw him stareing at you as he still was hugging Kali. "What are you looking at Cross?'' You said with coldness. Kaien smiled. "Sorry I didnt mean to stare, I just can kinda sense that your quite different then anyone  that I ever met but I mean that in a good way.'' "My sister may seem scary most of the time but once you really get to know her you will see that she aint that bad.'' "I look forward to getting to know her and you as well Kali, now why dont I have someone show you around the grounds.'' As Kaien went to pick up his office phone to make a call he heard you speak. "Let me make something clear to you Cross, I dont give a damn about what your trying to do here with those blood thirsty beasts but if one of them steps out of line or even thinks about hurting my sister I will kill every last one of them that is in this school.'' "Not to worry Lydia, they are all well behave so there is no need for you to do any of that, speaking of which I was already told that once by someone who is quite similar to you except he isnt as cold as you are.'' "Let me guess your talking about Zero Kiryu?'' "Yes I am how you guess?'' "Yagari filled me in on all the details about this place including Kiryu and your daughter Yuki and also about the both of them being guardians.'' "I see that is something I wanted to discuss with you Lydia, I would like for you to become a guardian and join Yuki and Zero to patrol the grounds at night as the night class attends their classes.'' "Is that another reason why you adopted me and my sister?'' "No not at all, I just belive things will go alot more smoothly with you as the third guradian, its tough for both Yuki and Zero to handle so much on their own so I belive that having a third person join the party will help take some of the load off them.'' You sighed since you knew that if you said no to him he would keep asking you about it or have your sister do it and there is no way you want her any where the vampires. "Fine I will do it but if one of those beasts mess with me, their dead.'' "I thank you now please wait a few minutes while I make a call to Yuki and Zero so they could show you the grounds.'' "Theres no need ill take a look around my self.'' You looked at Kali. "Make sure that you stick close to the both of them as they show you around.'' "I will um are you sure you wont get lost by looking around your self sis?'' "I will be fine.'' That was all you said as you left Kaien's office and began to explore the school on your own.
